China National Pharma Looks for Deals in Europe

BEIJING—China National Pharmaceutical Group Corp., China's largest pharmaceutical company by sales, is scouting out acquisition opportunities overseas as China's demand for health care grows.

The state-owned holding company, which controls Hong Kong-listed Sinopharm Group Co., is looking to acquire overseas technology companies to add to its existing business in pharmaceutical manufacturing, distribution, retail and health diagnostics, said Chairman Song Zhiping.
